Contemplative Collage: Collage Making and Journaling Workshop, January 25 (ABQ)
"Writing is often a way to try to understand what one cannot even remember." Lillian Smith
Messages are all around us! Every moment of every day, we're getting instructions from the Great Unknown. Since the beginning of time, humankind has been looking for ways to tap into our inner wisdom. Dreamwork is one such way, as is art, specifically collage.
In this 3 1/2 hour workshop, we'll explore these inner images, their stories and the messages that they hold for us, via scissors, glue sticks and the almighty pen.
How does it work? First, I'll insturct you on how to make your own Contemplative Collage. These are created on composition notebooks whose images you can return to again and again, which will then become our journals for the class.
Next, we'll do a "gallery walk" - looking at the entire class's work, in toto, to see what themes might be wanting to be explored.
Lastly, through writing, inner reflection, as well as lively group discussion, I'll take students through exercises designed to help you delve into the vibrant, magical and uniquely meaningful messages nestled in your work.
