Guadalupe Collage 7-day Online Workshop, Feast Day edition, beginning Saturday December 5th
If you've been following me at all on FB, you'll know that I have kind of a -thing- for Our Lady of Guadalupe. Earlier this year, I began a photography project in which I'll be photographing 100 Guadalupes in a multitude of representations - from murals and mosaics, to grottoes and tattoos.
Through this photography project, one thing has become clear to me - that Guadalupe is EVERYwhere, and she wants to come to the forefront in our collective consciousness to heal our world.
About seven months ago, well before the photography project, she began showing up spontaneously in my collages. But it was only when other former students started trying to create their own Guadalupe collages that I realized - hey, this is SOMEthing real. And the time is NOW.
I've put together a 7-day hybrid virtual/online/email workshop where you can learn not only the astounding history of Our Lady of Guadalupe, but you will also be able to create your own Guadalupe collage, incorporating all of the elements that make her unique.
How does it work? To begin, I will offer a one-hour Introductory class on Saturday, December 5th at 3pm MST via Google Meetups in which I will lay out our creative steps for the week ahead.
Then, I'll send an email each morning for the next seven days instructing participants on an element of Guadalupe that they are invited to include in their collage. Each day, I'll share the history and symbolism behind that element.
I will also have a FB Group page set up for those who want to connect with other participants of the class.
Once our seven days are up, on December 12th, the FEAST DAY of Guadalupe, I'll post a Gallery Walk of our entire selection of Guadalupe collages.
